manual for the course will be made available on the Departmental website as a
pdf file.
Rules & Guidelines: The laboratory
manual contains rules and guidelines that are there to help you complete the
course successfully. Please read them
carefully.
Caution Money: You are reminded
that a deposit of Lm50 is to be paid as ‘laboratory caution money’ at the
Accounts Office of the University, located at the main administration
building. You shall be reimbursed the
sum less the cost of any damages, at the end of the degree course, and upon
presentation of the relevant and original receipt (and not at the end of the
first year of studies).
Timetable: Physics
practical sessions will be held in Room 220 (Physics Year I Main Laboratory)
and Room 217 (Year I Optics Laboratory) both located on the first floor of the

Safety: The issue of
safety is of utmost importance in a laboratory.
Hence, all students, laboratory demonstrators, technicians and
coordinator are expected to wear their own laboratory coat at all times while
in the laboratory. For certain experiments,
it is necessary to wear safety spectacles.
Students are expected to provide their own safety spectacles.

Sessions: Laboratory practical sessions will be held on the
following Mondays.
